Story
The enclosed teardrop-shaped metal shade hangs as a compact, weighty form that directs light downward in a controlled zone beneath the opening. The exterior shows a mix of dark brown copper and blue-green oxidation patches that break up across the surface, while the interior copper reads warmer and more reflective when the lamp is on. In everyday use, the narrow opening limits side glare and keeps light focused on the surface below.
Over time, the interior copper deepens and darkens from heat, and the exterior patina continues to shift along edges and high points. Small-batch handling in a workshop setting means each shade develops its own balance of blue, brown, and exposed copper. No two surfaces age or mark in exactly the same way.
As with all handmade pieces, each lamp is unique. Subtle variations in texture, finish, and detail are part of its character and reflect the hands that shaped it.
